Why You Should Really Care About Super Bowl Sunday

The best part about the first Sunday in February is not who wins or loses, or even the borderline- amazing commercials you will see. What really matters is that this is the first reason since the ball dropped to plan a party.
Let’s face it, we need this winter to end now. The weather has taken us from social butterfly status to ‘why can’t we all just be bears and sleep until Spring?’ The cold has gotten us down and out, but it’s time to put your party planning shoes back on and be with good friends, eating good food.
The friends part is out of our control (we’re sure each and every one of you has a slew of wonderful people in your lives, so get ’em on the phone!) but what we can help with is the good –no, great–food. Below are two amazing recipes thate take Super Bowl snacks to another level and preparing them won’t stress you out– (the game will be stress enough).

Makes 18- 22 meatballs
What you’ll need:
- Sausage Bites
- 3 oz creamy gorgonzola cheese
- 1 lb turkey Italian sausage with fennel seed
- ½ cup Italian style bread crumbs
- ½ onion grated
- 1 egg white
- Salt to taste
Dipping Sauce: ½ cup raspberry preserves, ⅛ cup balsamic vinegar, 3 teaspoons Dijon mustard, Pinch of red pepper, Pinch of Salt
Follow these instructions, and voilá!

What you’ll need:
- 1 pound small or medium red potatoes
- 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Freshly ground pepper
- 12 ounces to 1 pound thick-cut bacon
- 1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
- 1-3 teaspoons hot sauce Salt and pepper
