Wilmington Bay Window Replacement Makes a Beautiful Change
the right Window style Made all the Difference in this Wilmington, OH Whole House Window Replacement
Windows can take up quite a bit of space in a home’s facade, especially for single-story homes. When Kim and Dwight Woodrum moved into their 1970s ranch in Wilmington, they knew the windows would need to be replaced – and Kim knew some window style changes would need to happen as well.
In addition to three double-hung windows on the front of the home, Kim and Dwight’s porch area was anchored by a large bay window that Kim was eager to get rid of. While the window offered some lovely curb appeal from the exterior, Kim felt that the interior ledge collected dust and created an extra cleaning task on her to-do list.
In speaking with the Improveit team, Kim learned how easy it is to change window styles during the window replacement process! Many homeowners replace double-hung windows with casements, for example, or opt to add a bay or bow window in place of a picture window. In Kim’s case, a three-lite slider was the perfect alternative to the old bay window.

Bay window replacement makes way for beautiful views
Kim and Dwight chose all white windows for their home, including the slider for the front porch area, and seven double-hung windows throughout the rest of the house. On installation day, the Improveit team methodically removed and replaced each window, and finished the edges with matching white trim. Kim and the team opted to keep the window sill from the old bay window, which retains some depth and visual interest on the front of the home. The three-lite slider design also mimics the three sections of the bay window.
In a follow-up conversation, Kim told the Improveit team that the house was much less drafty since the new windows were installed. “Dwight and I talked about how the temperature was more comfortable in the living room during the winter,” she said, adding that drafts from her old windows were so bad she could see the blinds moving.
Kim says she and Dwight are also appreciative of the Improveit lifetime warranty. Not only will the team be able to come out and address any questions or concerns about the window for the life of her home, but the couple will also be able to transfer the warranty to future owners when it comes time to sell!
