Newark Shower: Tub-to-Shower Conversion – Newark, OH
Ease of Use Meets Classic Style in this Newark Shower
The Improveit team was honored to work on this Newark shower update to help create a more accessible space for Maribeth as she dealt with health concerns. When the former tub-shower combo became difficult to climb in and out of safely, the family knew a tub-to-shower conversion was the right decision.
The new shower was designed to fit exactly inside the master bathroom’s existing bathing alcove, occupying the same 60-by-32-inch footprint as the tub. Maribeth chose chrome fixtures for the shower, including the 24-inch grab bar that was placed at the specific height and angle she requested, and a matching hand-held showerhead for ease of use.
Stylish Design for Newark Tub to Shower Conversion
For design interest and easy cleaning, the new shower’s travertine-patterned acrylic walls reach all the way to the ceiling, unlike the previous tub-shower combo that stopped about 2 feet lower. Two matching corner shelves were added to hold shampoo bottles and other shower needs, and the space was finished with a smooth glass sliding shower door. Unlike the shower curtain in the old design, the glass shower door visually opened up the space, while also relieving issues with water dripping on the bathroom floor, and adding the convenience of a built-in towel bar.
We love the simplicity of this beautiful shower, and are grateful that the Stovers trusted the Improveit team to put their design in place.
