When Nikki Butler discovered dry rot in some windows of her 24-year-old Brandenburg, KY home, she kicked off the search for a Louisville-area window company that had the products and service her home deserved.

“I had several folks stop by and give me estimates,” Nikki says, noting some meetings with pushy sales reps that left her looking for a better experience. That’s when she met long-time Improveit design consultant Tom Cook.

“Tom wasn’t pushy at all,” she says. “By the time I met with him, I had already learned the ins and outs of what makes a window, so I knew the questions I needed to ask. He was able to answer every single one and was extremely helpful in helping me determine the best window package for my home.”

Gridless windows make a Subtle difference with a beautiful view

Though she initially planned to just replace the dry-rotted windows, Nikki soon realized the value in addressing all of her home’s windows at once. She chose a combination of double-hung windows, sliders, and picture windows, which the Improveit team accurately measured to fit exactly in her home’s existing window openings – and said Improveit’s father-and-son installation duo was “excellent” when the new windows went in.

At first glance, a before-and-after of Nikki’s well-kept Brandenburg home doesn’t show much difference. The old white windows were replaced with new white windows, so the aesthetic is very much the same. What is different is a simple design choice she made: Opting for gridless windows.

“I’m not a big fan of grids, so I was happy to go with gridless windows,” Nikki says. “We have beautiful views around our home, and I really like the unobstructed view.”

After her 5-star installation, Nikki reached out to the Improveit servie team with a follow-up question about some streaking she noticed between the panes of one of her windows. A quick follow-up visit from a service technician confirmed a manufacturing defect and immediately put Nikki’s lifetime window warranty to good use.

“The lifetime warranty was something else that really impressed me about Improveit,” she says. “That gave me peace of mind knowing that they stand behind their product, and sure enough, they don’t just say it – they really mean it. Improveit sent someone out to take a look, and they’ll be replacing the glass soon.”
