Bright & Modern Lancaster Shower Remodel
dark & dated bathroom gets a beautiful refresh
When Roger and Jennifer Holmes met the Improveit team at the Fairfield County Fair, they were already thinking about updating the outdated shower in their Bremen, Ohio home. Like many homeowners in the Lancaster area, they wanted a bathroom that felt brighter, cleaner, and more modern than their existing bathroom was able to deliver.
Their old shower featured dark gray and brown ceramic tile with rust-colored accents that made the space feel heavy and closed in. The molded shower seat built into the old shower base offered some convenient shower seating and storage for shampoo bottles, but added bulk to both the visual design and the available showering space. Overall, the bathroom had a dated appearance that no longer matched the homeowners’ style.
After connecting with Improveit at the fair and learning more about their options, the Holmeses decided it was time for a dramatic transformation.
Vertical Shower tile design Striking New Look
For their new walk-in shower remodel, Roger and Jennifer selected Improveit’s stunning Othello shower design, featuring crisp white shower walls accented with bold black grout lines. The high-contrast look instantly brightened the entire bathroom while giving the space a clean, contemporary feel.
To make the design even more eye-catching, they paired the Othello pattern with the Milano vertical shower tile layout. The vertical tile pattern draws the eye upward and gives the shower a sleek, modern appearance that feels custom and upscale.
The transformation truly feels like night and day – literally going from dark to light!
White and Matte Black Fixtures Complete this modern lancaster shower remodel
To complement the white shower with black grout, the Holmeses selected matte black finishes throughout the space, including Gibson shower fixtures, Belfield grab bars, a corner caddy for shampoo bottle storage, and a matching shower door frame. The dark fixtures create a bold contrast against the bright white shower walls and help tie the entire design together.
Roger and Jennifer also chose a white bench seat to match the shower base. Since their previous shower already included built-in seating, adding a bench to the new design helped preserve the comfort and convenience they enjoyed in their old bathroom while upgrading the overall appearance dramatically.
The finished result is a bright, modern walk-in shower that completely transformed the feel of the bathroom. By replacing dark, dated tile with a clean and contemporary design, Roger and Jennifer created a space that feels larger, lighter, and far more inviting – a beautiful example of how a thoughtfully designed shower remodel can completely refresh a space.
