Oudated Bathroom Goes from Green to Gorgeous
this lancaster Bathroom remodel said goodbye to the 1970s
Susan Amrine specifically called out a color catastrophe when reviewing her 5-star experience with Improveit.
“Not for one minute have I missed my ugly green bathtub!! So glad they hauled it out of my sight!” she laughed. The Amrine’s Lancaster, OH home was built in 1973, which explains the avocado green bathtub – but is no excuse for the mistmatched green tile surround.
Working with an Improveit design consultant, Susan and her husband Don chose a tub-to-shower conversion for their much-needed Lancaster bathroom remodel. The old green bathtub and green tile walls were removed entirely, all the way down to the studs. This gave the installers the opportunity to add blocking behind the walls for new grab bars to be installed vertically and diagonally in different areas of the shower.
“My new shower is beautiful and safe,” Susan says. “I love the grab bars. They are much higher quality than I have seen in other stores. The installer was always prompt in arriving, his work was fast and I have yet to find any flaws or mistakes.”
The couple also chose a bench seat as an additional safe bathing – and relaxing! – shower accessory. The new look is much more modern with sleek stone-effect walls accented with a diamond tile pattern. Congratulations on your beautiful new shower, Susan and Don!
The Amrine’s gave us permission to use their project in our annual Scary Bathrooms roundup. See it here, along with other bathroom makeovers!
