Ohio State Bathroom Garden Tub to Shower Conversion

A refresh for this Buckeye bathroom 

Ohio State fans Michael and Sharen Huffman got a big win with Improveit’s 5-Star treatment for their Grove City, Ohio bathroom. Their request to remove a garden tub turned into the installation of a beautiful walk-in shower in our popular lightning wall color.  

While the existing garden tub was clean and well-maintained, the couples’ needs changed, and they were looking for something more easily accessible. After originally contacting Improveit about installing a walk-in tub, the couple met with an Improveit designer and determined that a walk-in shower would be a better solution for their needs and available space.  

The results are stunning! The generous 42-by-60-inch shower base allows plenty of room for showering, and is easily adapted for use by bathers of all abilities, and caregiver access if needed. The vertical and horizontal grab bars provide safe stability while entering, exiting, and using the shower, and three single-tier shelves offer storage space for bottles, shaving needs, and more. While the Huffmans decided not to add a shower bench to their new design, there’s plenty of room to add a standalone shower seat down the road if they choose.  

Design wise, the Huffmans chose Improveit’s lightning pattern for their shower walls and shower base, creating a high-end look without the price tag or maintenance of natural stone tile and grout. “One of the features our clients love most about the Improveit shower system is that it’s grout-free because there’s no tile,” explains Improveit design consultant Tim Parsons. “But we do have a share of clients that still want the appearance of a fully tiled shower. By starting with our Reveal surrounds and matching the base and ceiling panel with your shower surround, we can give the same effect at a much more affordable price point.”
