Form & Function Updates in Columbus Bath & Shower Combo

When your home only has one bathroom, that space has two important jobs: Function properly every day, and blend in stylishly with the rest of your home. When the Van Sickles bought their Columbus-area home in 2017, they knew its single bathroom needed a design update, but other renovations to the 1980 home took precedence – until they discovered water leaking into the basement.

“The 80s blue tiles were awful,” Brittany says. “Some of them were falling off the walls, and we tried every cleaner known to man to get the black lines out of the grout, but we just couldn’t get it clean. When we discovered the plumbing was leaking into our basement when we took a bath, that was it. Not only was it ugly – it just wasn’t functional.” 

The Search for a Seamless Bathtub Shower Replacement

The Van Sickles had some experience hiring home improvement companies. For this project, they knew they needed to choose a company that would help them design a great-looking bathroom tub remodel, and work efficiently to cause minimal disruption to their daily routines. Those prioritize led them to Improveit, and Brittany says everything ran seamlessly from there. 

“After I requested an appointment, someone reached out immediately and within the week someone was able to come out and look at our bathroom,” she says. “We got to pick out our new bathroom at that point, and everything was so seamless. Everyone was so kind and so knowledgeable. I always have tons of questions and I didn’t feel like I was bothering anyone. Just all around a really pleasant experience.”

During their selection meeting, Brittany and her husband Randy chose new bathroom finishes that fit their style and brought the bath & shower combo up to date. The gray Basket Weave wall color with a hexagon tile pattern creates a modern vibe that’s accented by the matte black fixtures. A matching corner caddy adds storage the family needs, and the design is all anchored by a brand-new acrylic bathtub. 

New bathTub Shower Replacement Makes All the Difference

Brittany says the installation process for the bathroom tub remodel was just as easy as the product selection and didn’t interrupt their work-from-home schedules – or their bathroom needs. “Before I even reached out to Improveit, I was thinking a bathroom installation would take at least a week,” Brittany says. “When I heard it was only going to take two days, I was super excited!”  

As planned, the installation crew removed all the old bathroom materials on Day 1, leaving the toilet and sink functioning overnight so the family wouldn’t be left entirely without a bathroom. On Day 2, the new drywall, tub, shower, and fixtures were all in place and the work completed.

A Bathroom Tub Remodel that brings tears of joy

With their plumbing repaired, and crumbling tile replaced with grout-free acrylic walls, the Van Sickles have no concerns about their new bathroom leaking or deteriorating – and they have a lifetime warranty to support the work. Brittany says she was so pleased with the entire process she nearly cried! 

“I had some tears in my eyes,” she says. “I just wanted a nice, pretty bathroom, and I got it! I can soak in the tub now and not have to worry about it, and my son was getting tired of taking showers too.”
