Delaware, OH Bathroom Remodel preserves Classic Style

Some bathroom design choices can give away the exact decade the home was built. The Kerrs’ bathroom was different. With a timeless neutral stone surround, the tub-shower combo in their 1957 home still looked decent, but it was time to update the space for safety.

When Charles and his wife Betty called Improveit, they told the team their main goal was to take out the tub and replace it with a walk-in shower. Their designer was happy to help, and the result lets them keep the same classic stone look.

The Kerrs selected a Travertine stone surround, but unlike the tile from their previous shower, their new Improveit shower features smooth, seamless acrylic. Behind the shower walls, installers added brand new waterproof backerboard (as they do on every Improveit project), creating a waterproof seal that’s warranted for life. With matching travertine corner shower caddies and complementary chrome fixtures, the Kerrs can continue to enjoy a beautiful shower – and a safer one – for decades to come!
