Still Time to Save on 2012 Taxes
Apr 01, 2013When’s the last time you heard good news about your taxes? For homeowners, the 2012-13 Energy Tax Credit is just that. You can earn credit on qualifying home improvements you made last year, as well as those you complete in 2013.
How much can you save?
- Here are a few highlights of potential savings:
- Windows: 10% of the purchase price, up to $200
- Exterior Doors: 10% of the purchase price, up to $500
- Insulation: 10% of the cost, up to $500
Qualifying products must be installed in your existing primary residence (no new construction or rental units) between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013. Only products that meet ENERGY STAR® ratings are eligible for the tax credit. Installation costs are not included.
